Winter.
For me, winter means stoking the wood stove, comfy womfies on early every night, driving white-knuckled, snowball fights, sledding, hot chocolate, skiing, ice fishing, and Christmas.
It also means outlooks, predictions, forecasts, and people everywhere wanting to know who’s going to get the BIG winter storms during the 2017/2018 season.
The leaves are already changing and I could smell winter in the air this past weekend. Ski season is right around the corner and some of the western states could actually get their first taste of winter this week!
The snow could start falling as early as Thursday night in the northern Rockies – Montana and Wyoming will see the bulk of the September snowfall.
Coloradoans who live above 11,000’ will most likely see snow by Saturday.
What about our friends to the North, eh? The Canadian Rockies are likely to see their first winter storm of the season.
Up here in New England, the long range forecast is showing a colder winter than average (great), which, for obvious reasons, could lead to above average snowfalls for most of the region (double great).
So, what does this all mean? Well, besides packing up summer stuff and pulling out boots and coats, hats and gloves, it also means that there is no better time than now to get your snow guard projects lined up and on order.
The phones are ringing off the hook here in our offices, and we want you to beat the rush and make sure you have everything you need BEFORE the snow accumulates.
As an aside, I can’t believe I’m already talking about snow….my pool isn’t even winterized and I’m wearing flip flops. Snow? How is this even possible already?
